Ayia Napa With Kids: Which Trips Work and Which to Skip
Updated October 19, 2026 · 5 min read
For most families the best day is a boat with a slide and swim stops: the family cruise with lunch is €45 per person for 4 hours, rated 4.7 from 57 reviews on GetYourGuide. It lists lifejackets and snorkelling masks, a slide and kids’ entertainment. Further down are the trips that suit older children only, and several that are for adults.
Boats with a slide
| Trip | Duration | From | Rating | What the listing gives |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Family cruise with lunch and swim stops | 4 hours | €45 per person | 4.7 from 57 reviews | Slide, lifejackets, masks, kids’ entertainment |
| Turtle Dream yacht with big slide and optional barbecue | 3.5 to 5 hours | €29.75 per person | 4.7 from 1,759 reviews | Huge inflatable slide, optional barbecue lunch |
| Black Pearl pirate boat cruise with cannon show | 4 hours | €48 per person | 4.5 from 128 reviews | Pirate show, treasure hunt, lunch |
Prices and ratings are those shown on GetYourGuide.
The family cruise has two swim stops of about 30 minutes, one at the Blue Lagoon and one at Turtle Bay, on a three-floor boat 28 metres long. Lunch is chicken, rice, salad, tzatziki and baked potatoes, with vegetarian options. Families get a discount: 10% for two adults with three children, 15% for two adults with four. The listing carries a wheelchair-accessible label, which is the operator’s wording, so confirm it before relying on it.
The Turtle Dream is cheaper and has far more reviews, but it sails from Protaras Pier at 10 am, not from Ayia Napa harbour, unless you pick an option with a resort transfer. The crew’s snorkel masks need a cash deposit of €20, refunded when you return them. The listing does not state a minimum age, so ask before you book with a baby. For the pirate ship, see the Black Pearl guide, which covers what that listing does not say.
Plain Blue Lagoon cruises
If the children just want a boat and a swim, the Blue Lagoon cruise with optional lunch is €35 for 4.5 hours and rated 4.7 from 2,690 reviews. Take care to book the right one: the Blue Lagoon guide points out one cruise that allows no children on board.
On land
- Cyherbia Botanical Park. A walk through herb gardens, a maze with a tower, a woodland with a fairy village, a scavenger hunt for children and a playground outside the bistro. It is from €8 per person, rated 4.9 from 12 reviews, and the meeting point is in the village of Avgorou, not in Ayia Napa, so work out how you will get there. The listing carries a wheelchair-accessible label. Pets are not allowed, except assistance dogs.
- Quad safari. The minimum passenger age is 6, and children cannot drive. See the quad safari guide. It is €75 per person.
- Mini Mountain Jeep Safari. €70 for 6 hours in a group of up to 8, rated 4.7 from 37 reviews, with a monastery, a copper mine, a village and a swim at a beach. The listing says it is not suitable for babies under 1, and strollers, baby carriages and unaccompanied minors are not allowed. Six hours is long for a small child. For the bigger jeep tours, see jeep safaris from Ayia Napa.
What the listings do not say
- Shade and toilets on the boats. Not stated in the family and Turtle Dream listings. The sunscreen on the what-to-bring lists is the nearest thing to guidance, so ask the operator about both.
- Age limits. Only the quad safari, the jeep safari and the adult cruises name one, and the family cruise says it is suitable for all ages. For the Turtle Dream, the pirate ship and the other listings that give none, that is not permission; ask.
- Seasickness. If your child gets seasick, speak to your pharmacy or doctor before the trip. We do not recommend any remedy here.
Trips that are not for children
Several evening cruises are adults only. The Fantasy and Castle Club boat parties, the sunset DJ cruises and one Blue Lagoon cruise all exclude children, with age limits that differ between 16 and 18. The details are in boat parties in Ayia Napa. Do not book one of these on the assumption that a teenager can join.
When to wait
A baby or toddler who needs fixed nap times will find four hours on a boat that leaves at 10 am hard going, and none of the boat listings above names a minimum age. If that is your situation, an hour at the herb garden is a gentler day than any cruise.
Which one to book
- Children who love water and slides: the family cruise, €45, or the Turtle Dream, €29.75.
- Older children who like a show: the Black Pearl, €48.
- A quiet half-day on land: Cyherbia Botanical Park, from €8.
- Children from 6 who want something fast: the quad safari, €75.
