Jeep Safari From Ayia Napa: Troodos, Coast or Grand Tour?

Updated October 19, 2026 · 6 min read

Turquoise sea seen through a rock opening, with pale limestone cliffs and cave mouths along the far shore

For most visitors the best jeep safari from Ayia Napa is the half-day caves jeep safari on the east coast: €60 per person, about 4 hours, rated 4.6 from 1,241 reviews on GetYourGuide. It is the shortest and by far the most reviewed, and it is the only one that fits around a beach day. The mountain tours are for a different kind of day, and they are long.

The choice is really between the coast, which you can see from the sea or on a quad as well, and the Troodos mountains, which none of those can reach. If you want the mountains, the question becomes how many hours you are willing to spend in a vehicle.

The coastal safari: the one to book

It heads to the east of Konnos National Park, with the Cape Greco viewpoint, Lovers’ Bridge and the sea caves on the route, and the listing says there is free time to swim at one of the bays. A reviewer says that included an hour and a half on a beach. The listing is not clear on length, giving 4 hours in one place and 4.5 in another, so plan for the longer.

Be realistic about the ride. The vehicles are Land Rover Defenders with no air conditioning and seatbelts for ten passengers, and the listing itself calls them “not the most comfortable”. A reviewer warns of very old suspension. The listing asks you not to book if you have back problems, and babies under 1 are not suitable. Refreshments are for sale on the way and lunch is not included.

The mountain safaris: long days

The Troodos Classic runs 10 hours and goes for peaks, villages and waterfalls. Its listing contradicts itself on food: the inclusions list lunch and refreshments, while the know-before-you-go note says the tour does not include lunch. Check that before you pay. Wheelchair users are listed as not suitable.

The Grand Tour is the one with the most fixed stops, including a lunch stop at Pano Platres and a wine tasting at a winery. Its itinerary lists about 70 minutes in the vehicle before the first photo stop and 100 minutes on the way back, so this is a lot of driving with a walk at Mesa Potamos Falls in between. The group is limited to 10, the 4x4 has no air conditioning, and you must cover shoulders and knees at churches and monasteries. One reviewer said the day might be hard for small children and for anyone who gets motion sick. With 4.3 from 203 reviews it is not the best rated.

The Enchanted Lagoon is the one to book if you want mountains, and the reason is the group size: a maximum of 8 people, in a Land Rover, with a stop at a lagoon for a swim, a 17th-century chapel and the village of Lefkara. It is 10 hours at €70, which is cheaper than the Troodos Classic and the Grand Tour both in price and per hour. Children under 2 are listed as not suitable, and pickup is not possible outside the Greek-controlled part of Cyprus.

The mini mountain safari is the shortest way into the hills: 6 hours, a maximum of 8 people, with the Ayia Napa Monastery, an abandoned copper mine, Pano Lefkara and a swim at Governor’s Beach. You can book it as a group or as a private trip. It has only 37 reviews, so the 4.7 is a thin record.

Jeep, quad or boat?

The coastal jeep safari covers much of what a quad safari and a boat cruise see, in a different way. If you want to drive yourself, read the coastal quad safari. If it is the sea you are after, the Blue Lagoon cruises cost less and have no dust.

Which one to book

  • Most people: the 4-hour coastal safari at €60.
  • You want the mountains and a smaller group: the Enchanted Lagoon at €70.
  • Mountains, but only 6 hours: the mini mountain safari at €70.
  • Peaks and waterfalls: the Troodos Classic at €80, once you have checked the lunch.
  • Lunch, a winery and the option of a German-speaking tour leader: the Grand Tour at €95.

All five are listed under jeep and quad safaris in Ayia Napa.
